Ok I know that the new Colt .22LR is mostly proprietary but Im wondering if the chargin handle can be swapped out. I want to install a big latch type charging handle so it would be easier to charge with gloves. Also with my optics in place, especially my 3x magnifier, it covers the charging handle a little but so a bigger latch would be nice. I know that the stock charging handle doesnt have a latch. but if you guys have a better idea like a charghing handle with over sized grips, then I could go for that.

The Colt .22LR uses a couple of small ball detents on the bottom of the charging handle to retain the handle, so swapping it out would be difficult at best and would require some dedicated modification and machining.

It would be easier to just get the tactical version with the full lenght rail and move the optics forward.

Hey, just wondering how that rifle is working for you? Thinking of getting one.

BOOM__STICK: I have heard mixed results from Colt 22 owners. Some love them and some hate them. Personally, I'd be looking at the S&W, at the least rather than taking a chance on getting a "Wednesday Gun". Quality that varies widely scares me.

I cant say much yet as I have yet to shoot mine. but I have been handling it quite often."playing" with it and swapping out accessories. to kill time. but no noticeable problems. I heard some have cracked lowers right out of the box.

the problem with my optics is that my 3x magnifier does not have an adjustable eye relief. so moving it forward wont work.
