I have a friend that wants me to put a collapsable stock on his colt rifle, My question is are all brands of the m4 collapsable stock compatable with colts or do you have to have a colt m4 stock?

I would find a true COLT stock if it's going on a COLT receiver. Puting that non mil spec buffer t00b on there would be a crime against the civilized world.

I just installed a collapsible stock from cdnnsports.com on my Colt lower. Thread pitch and diameter are all the same. I haven't fired it yet as I just installed it this morning but it seems to cycle properly. cb

but if you use a non milspec tube on that COLT you're going to drop the value of that rifle

IIRC Colt does use STAG tubes.

Yes all the tubes are the same. But if you dont put a Colt tube and stock on a Colt rifle. A pony will poop on your front door step when you are not looking. Check out the owners manul its in the fine print.

Stag Arms are made to the same specs as Colt originals (M4 and CAR styles). most others have a receiver tube that is slightly larger dia or other minor thing s not quite exact. the Stag willl be about 1/2 the price of the Colt.
