I'm a little confused with this.  I am looking to buy a preban colt for NY use and everything I see has a large front pivot pin.  Now, since no-one besides the old colts themselves have large pin uppers, what options are available?

Are there adapters for a large front pin lower receiver to a regular upper?

Nice thanks, do I have to use the offset buffers for that?

Options available are big hole uppers. Daniel Defense makes a big hole flattop upper. Big hole A1and A2 uppers are available on the used market.

Big hole uppers, no adapter needed.

I have a Daniel Defense big hole upper. I like it a lot. It's black instead of grey like my lower but it still fits perfectly.

I suspect the big hole uppers cost a bit more than the multitudes of normal uppers from PSA/DD/BCM, etc.  (Well at least at non panic times).

Has anyone here used the small-big pivot pin adapter that was poster earlier?  Does it work well without too much slop?

This may make a difference with me buying now or waiting till a small pin preban colt comes into my price range (probably never lol)

I've not used one and was about to order one but then I found a SP1 large hole upper here for sale.

I've read they seem to work.

Other option is to use a spare upper and drill out that hole to accommodate the large pin lower.
