| I was curious, do the new colt rifles, mainly 6920's etc. have standard pins? Or are they still oversized? I was looking on gunbroker and saw a LE6920 for sale. I wouldn't mind getting another colt but don't want the hassle of large push pins or oversized trigger and hammer pins. |
Is this why Capt Richardson flipped out? |
If you'll notice, Capt Ritchardson pulled all of his posts along with all the pics because of posts that did not belong or the answers could be easily found elsewhere. link |
I understand that much. I just don't understand why you'd take the opportunity to clutter a thread with no answer or bearing to the original question with a quip against someone. I just kinda found it to be of bad taste, but oppinions differ from member to member. To each their own. |
I'll have to agree with you there, but with the exception of a half dozen out of production/upgraded companies, all the modern lowers amount to about the same. Personally, my LE6520 is going to a Colt 723 project , with a C7 upper , 14.7 pencil / a2 fh. The "AR15a2 Gov't Carbine" just kinda seemed to fit well with the 723's "M16a2 Carbine" Not quite retro, I'll admit, but not quite modern. |
I like that... OK, I'll answer the original question. Front and rear takedown pins are now standard size and compatible with all "small pin" uppers. Colt did enlarge the trigger and hammer pins to prevent swapping them with M16 stuff. |
| hunterex, I'm doing the exact same thing. I have a slab side 6520 lower, gonna put an m16a1 upper and 14.7" pencil barrel w/ perm. a2 on it. It'll make a real light and handy little rifle, not to mention practical and fun to shoot. Should end up looking like a 653-style gun, but with a slab side lower. |

Well, a simple soulution here is, to realize a mistake has been made. Then be decent enough to STFU about it. and last but not least, have a mod move the damn post. Quite being babies, realize your shit does stink, understand people make mistakes(even you), and just relax and enjoy the board. |
