What new-production Colt lowers have the "M4 Carbine" & Colt Defense rollmarks?
The LE6920 SOCOM does, IIRC, but which others do? Does the stock LE6920s have it too? Just the post 2013 models? I'm not super hot on the rail on the SOCOM version, and the usefulness of the heavier barrel is basically lost on me since I don't have a RDIAS, so if the stock 6920 has the right rollmarks I'm not going to spend the extra $400 or so for a bunch of stuff I don't need. |

Watch for deals, there was just a bunch of us that got 6920 Socoms for $899. deal They are out of stock currently though.
If the lower is all that you want, those pop up for sale sometimes on gunbroker but are usually around $500 for the complete lower. Just another option for you. Eta: To answer your question, I'm not sure about the rollmarks on the regular 6920. Sorry |

The SOCOM 6920 is engraved M4A1 & the regular 6920 is engraved M4. Some are marked Colt Defense while others are marked Colt's Mfg. They both come off the same production lines. If you want specific markings then you would be best served finding one in a shop that you can look at in person before you buy. If you order online then it's a crap shoot. Most I'm guessing will be marked Colt Defense since the sample pool I have are marked as such. Good luck. |
| The 2013 and newer LE6920's are marked M4 Carbine and Colt Defense. The older LE6920's were marked Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine. Beware of folks selling SP6920's as LE6920's because those are marked sporter M4 Carbine and Colt's Mfg. I am kicking myself in the ass for trading my 2013 LE6920 and plan to replace it very soon. |
