My supervisor and I went to the local gunshow today and noticed a guy walking around with a Colt 16" LE (6921?),the Ser.# on the lower is: LE 023xxx. I was kind of leery about it because the upper had a key-hole forge marking and wasn't sure if Colt ever used Cerro forgings. Also, the barrel had no markings at all. It did have the cut-out for g.launcher,though. Oh,it's also a flat-top. So,is this a Colt upper? |

A Colt barrel will have Colt markings. Have never seen or heard of a real Colt barrel being unmarked. They will have twist, caliber, and maker as well as test method stamped at top dead center of the barrel just behind the flash hider. The upper will have M4 just above the gas tube hole on the front. Go with you gut.......sounds like the upper group has been swaped out. |

That's what I tried to tell him! My Colt has all the markings on the barrel but it is a pre-ban 20-incher. All along the guy kept saying:Do what you want with the lower, just keep the upper with it so it retains value." I don;t know if he new he was fleecing my buddy or not. |
