Looking for a commonly available 125-130 gr .308 round.
Mk319 would be ideal but it’s availability is hit or miss.

What else is out their in this loading ?

Looking on midwayusa I'm seeing a lot of them. Have you checked with them?

Here's one example: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/796037/nosler-bt-ammunition-308-winchester-125-grain-ballistic-tip-box-of-20

However if you just want OTM or HP, go with something heavier like IMI 168gr Razor Core.

In for reply’s, this interests me because my preferred ammo for .308 short guns is 125/130gr because velocity is still fantastic out of 13”barrels... but availability is scarce.

I usually pick up 155gr AMAX stuff (either new or reman) for my 308 at because it’s pretty easy to find and 155amax is a great terminally performing bullet.

Use ammoseek.com

the most common 125gr .308 is Hornady Lite...

Prices are steep..$22 / 20rds.

Or the Fed. 130gr Varmint... $35 / 40rds... I didn't get very good accuracy with it though out of my .308AR's.

I’m not sure the 125gr lite stuff is worth having, especially for gas guns. I’d feel worried about putting lite recoil stuff in an AR tuned for full power.

Nosler 125gr ballistic tips. I wouldn't shoot anything bigger than coyotes with it. At .308 velocities it is essentially a varmint grenade.

I’ll bet 125gr @ nearly 3000fps makes cantaloupe sized craters inside of 100 yards on bad guys though.

Nosler's factory loading is going 3100fps. I certainly don't want to stand in front of one, but for hunting it is essentially a .308 varmint round. It will fragment violently with shallow penetration. Depends on what you want to do with it. I occasionally deer hunt with Fusion/Gold Dots in .223, but I wouldn't use a Federal 50gr tipped round.

The Nosler 125's in a 300BLK loading (at ~2200fps) are more suitable for deer.
