Well time to purchase optics and trying to decide between comp m2 and ml2. Being military background i am used to the m68 which is the compm2. As far as i can tell the only difference is the m2 has NV capable. Doubt that i will ever shell out 3K for night vision is there really a difference between the 2 and is it really worth the 50.00 difference. Where is the best place to purchase said optics?

I was in the same boat not long ago. I have access to NVG's at work but they attach to a flight helmet and are not really designed to be used for weapons use (at least not our setups). I went with the ML2 as it was cheaper and I KNOW I will never be able to afford night vision as a personal purchase. If you can find a nice used M2 I say go for it but otherwise I say ML2 all the way. Or the ML3 with 2 MOA dot, that is nice!

For those who have no Night Vision gear in their future, the ML2 is fine. If you have the extra $50 -$60 bucks to spend upgrading to the ML3 w/ 2moa dot would probably serve you better, longer battery life and the 2 moa dot helps a bit on the longer shots.
