Does anyone make a mount like the ARMS 19S for the compacts yet?

Anyone?
Maybe something new at the Shot Show?

Yes there is a throw lever mount for the compact ACOGs like the 19S.  It is called (suprise!) the 19S.

Am I missing something?  The Compact fits the same carry handle the full size ACOGs do.  Am I being a smartass for no reason?

I think the 19s is too low for the compacts, especially the lower powered ones (if you have a full front site base).  The only mount is the TA60 which has knobs like the TA51 only smaller and higher.

Yes the full size and compact ACOG use the same physical mounting but because the compact is smaller than the full size ACOG, it needs a mount that is slightly taller in order for the scope to clear the front sight.

Like the #19ACOG?

Worked well enough for me and my FAL for awhile. I drilled and tapped the compact ACOG for a second screw making it even stronger.

Am looking for something short and with a quick release like the 19S. I've got the TA60, which is designed for the compact, but it uses screw knobs to tighten not a quick release lever.

Do you happen to have pics of your Compact mounted in the TA60?  If so please email me pics at [email protected] and I will offer you a reward [;)]

thanks,

I have used the compact ACOG in a 19S many times and it does not need to "clear the front sight" so I dont really see an issue there.  I doubt such a mount will ever be produced.  Its less under the iron sight height than the TA11 in an 19S is over the iron sight height.  Therefore there is no real need for such a devise.  Have you actually ever used a 19S with a compact ACOG before or are you just listening to the internet theorists?

I have never used the compact acog in a #19S on a flat top.  My uncle has a TA44R4 in a thumbscrew mount on top of a GG&G Fire? rail, the early one with the integrated A2 sight.  I might get a #19S just to see what the deal is on a flat top.  People have said that the front sight is annoying, and they have said that the mounting height is also too low from a cheek wled point.

I believe that these people are just asking for a mount like the #19S, but shortened to fit the compact acogs mounting foot, and also higher, preferably placing the compact acog at iron sight height.  Not an unneeded device to everyone.  Look at some of the mounts that ARMS makes already.  I see a lot less profit in a throwlever mount for the Reflex than there would be for a throwlever mount for the compact acog.

You seem a little tense DevL, maybe you need to go ask Brian Voils for a nice massage? [naughty]
