Hold onto something cause here are a couple of pics.  Definitely something different.

The first pic is using the high mount, makes the reticle just a tad higher than the iron sights.  The second is the medium mount (on the RAS II hump) which makes it about the same.  I also have a low mount and it works suprisingly well on some other firearms like the dreaded Mini-14R and bolt action rifles.  I got the special ring so I could mount it to a variety of firearms.  The mount is solid and quite sturdy despite the look. I have it mounted so far forward because of the amazing eye relief of the model I am using (TA24R-4)

Mike thx for the info, but I am looking for someone has the ring dot reticle in a compact.

Want to know if they like it, thinking about ordering one.

Ooops, now I get your meaning - compact ACOG with donut of death.  Unfortunately they don't make one, I believe you can either have the crosshair, triangle, or solid dot.

Thx Mike I did not know, I guess they stopped making them.

They did stop making them, I dont know how long ago. I would guess about 3 years? Maybe more.  I have seen one though, a guy I see at the range now and again has one. It's an amber circle. I dont know how large it was, but I do remember it being pretty big. I didnt much like it.

BUWAHAHA!  There's only a tube on the left sides of my rifles.  They are all set up for me, and I only use them at the range as a righty so lefty's who borrow my rifles must suffer as I don't need the storage at this time.  It's a particular quirk like how Lumpy likes to keep a rail panel cover on the top of the handguard.

As for the donut, now that I know about it I kind of want to see it.

I know they did make the donut and they made the ring dot. Man I would love to see one,.

Neil was it the donut or the ring dot? Any idea how big the dot was? 3 or 4 MOA maybe?

Boom,

Have you tried the Triangle?  I really like the Triangle reticle because the solid body is big enough for fast picker uper in close in work and the tip is pretty fine for longer range precision work.

Chen yes I have 2 triangles (1 red, 1 amber) looking for something different. I was looking at one of the manuals and saw they had the ring dot setup but I guess they no longer make them. I wanted something with a 3 or 4 MOA center and a outter ring like the EO but wanted it magnified.

Well I guess the search continues.

I had a circle-dot reticle on my AUG.  Granted it is not illuminated, can't say I ever liked it.  The AUG now has a compact 2x24 ACOG with amber triangle which I prefer.
