| Is there a compensator that will reduce even a little flash ? And still is pleasing to the eye ? I want to throw one on 20 inch preban so I can have another postban gun. |

The GI A2 "half birdcage" compensator is both a flash suppressor and a compensator (though not very efficient at either). There are brake/compensators, like the AK-74 style brake, which do not reduce flash and would be legal on a postban - although permanent mounting would be required if there were flash suppressor threads on the barrel. |

The A-2 birdcage on a 20in barrel produces so little flash that it is not visible at night from 15yards away so I would say either the Winchester SS109 is very low flash or the A2 comp/suppressor is very effective in flash reduction (real world that is < it might be 85% efficient but I doubt the enemy will be closer than 15yds.) It is pretty innefficient as a muzzle compensator and only kills probably 30% of climb. as far as an answer to the original question I don't have one, I think most muzzle brakes will be slightly efficient but some magnify the flash (I watched the comp from JP enterprises rapid fire and it seemed to have almost no flash but every third or fourth round would have a very bright flash- this seems to be the case most of the time. |

It's not too bad on a 20"... Try the A2 vs a vortex on a 14.5" barrel, though [;)] |
