I'm sure what there are many conversation on this topic but I have slightly different twist. Sinc I reside in god forsaken NY where my upper can't have a evil flash hider I'm looking for compensators which do preform some flash reduction function, and idealy do not hurt accuracy of the gun. What's hot and what's not - any ideas will be appreciated

This is part 1 of 5 parts. Watch these and you will get a good idea. I narrowed it to a FSC or Griffin from these. Then found other videos and reviews on each of those. They were a dead heat for what I was looking for.(5.56 AND 7.62x51) Chose the Griffin because it did not have a lot of sharp edges to rub on me while rifle is being carried. |

The old AWB is now null and void by nysafeact so as long as you reg. your evil baby killing tool of destruction (in theory) you can have what ever you want......until they confiscate it. They already said that confiscation is the goal so do what you will. Check out the NYHTF. |

Looks like they incorporated several current brakes into one. Judging by the side ports she is going to be loud but what brake isn't. Nice price too! |
| The only one I've used is the Battlecomp 1.0 and it did what they said it would do on an SR-15--the dot just doesn't move with 223 ammo. It moves a little to the right with 556. |
| The POF compensator. Surprisingly good but horribly loud and annoying. In fact it's so bad that guys at a training event refused to stand next to me. It's super good for taming the gun though. Other than that I'm addicted to the MB556K. That is probably the most effective at controlling the muzzle of the gun. |

I have these three...
1. The Surefire MB556K is sexy looking and doubles as a can adapter...muzzle flip is almost eliminated entirely. Shoots big balls of fire out the sides though. 2. The AAC 51 Tooth Brakeout is a great performing muzzle brake with prongs for flash suppression...and it's a can adapter. This one is still considered a muzzle brake, if I recall correctly (in other words, check your laws before you buy one). 3. The PWS FSC 556 is another awesome one that I believe is technically considered a muzzle brake (still check to be sure). It also has prongs for added flash suppression. I have one on a build and I love it. The Battle Comp and Spikes Dynacomp models also look interesting...like they might be a good combination of both brake and flash hider. But I haven't fired a rifle with either, so don't take my word for it. |
I've used 3-4 Miculek Comp/Brakes.. they cut down the kick.. they do throw LOUD and CONCUSSIVE blast to the sides.. (not my problem as I shoot outdoors)..
On my VEPR in 762x54R I went with the JP Cooley Comp.. has side ports (like the Miculek) and 4 small top ports.. works fantastic and the price is pretty reasonable IMHO..
