I've read through the 9mm AR FAQ and I still have some questions.

Who make a complete 9mm AR or AR Pistol? I think a standard AR would be best, because eventually I want to SBR it, and add a can. Or would it be better to get an AR pistol and then when my SBR paperwork comes through, add the stock and VFG? The goal is to make it as much like a subgun as possible, and maybe someday down the road get an RDIAS for it, if that's even possible?

I will say one feature I would like to have is the bolt hold open after the last shot. This isn't a requirement, just a want. Cheap mags are a plus too.

I've currently got a Colt 6920, but I think I would ultimately like another complete setup, rather than just a conversion. (Unless the conversion is really simple)

Rock River seems to be one of the easier ways to get a 9mm setup.  The right RRA/Hahn mag blocks will hold the bolt.  The newest C Products mags seem to be more reliable than the old ones and cost the least of new production mags.

The pistol v. rifle question:  it depends if a pistol length barrel will fit your needs once it's an SBR.  If you want the 7.5" or 10.5" barrel, you can save yourself some cash.  Cutting the rifle length barrel down or selling it to get a new one isn't that costly, and lets you enjoy using a stock in the mean time (I don't prefer AR pistols).

RDIAS?  If you can afford one, you can afford to make it compatible with your gun if need be.

How much for the C Products mags?

How much to get the barrel cut down to say... 7.5 inches?

As for the RDIAS... you have a good point.

Olympic Arms has been making the complete 9mm AR-15 carbine and pistol for almost 16 years.

Thousands down range through mine and you can use Sten mags and their new magazines.

I'd look at the double diamond supply 9mm lowers. Things are a real 9mm lower with a smaller magwell. You can get a complete lower or a stripped one from them and they can add your sbr engravings for you.

Past that I'd go with a colt 6450 complete rifle and sbr it. When the paperwork comes back have the barrel cut down.

IMO the new Colt 6450 is a good foundation.
They now come with a small pin M16 hammer and a ramped bolt that is really nice.
