I will be done with retros for a while unless some really good opportunites come up. I have 27 ARs right now and I do plan on adding more eventually. I still have plans to build a 605. I really like these. Who knows, I may start getting a piece here and there and stash them away for a rainy day. I wish I had the money right now to buy a M16A1 parts kit. That would really be the best thing to get me started. All I would need to get then would be a NDS lower, 20" gov't profile barrel (cut it down to 16", rethread the muzzle, and open up the gas port). May be one day early next year I will get started.

Wow....very nice and certainly an inspiration. Cool collection, thanks for sharing your picture of the family.
I came here to build one retro XM177E2 Clone build.....well that turned into also building a model 723 clone. ...and now I am up to five planned builds that I am gathering parts for....it really is addictive. But it's so fun. I have had the AKM bug for years....and have built or have enough parts to build an arsenal by the time I get done. Now switching to CAR 's and M16 clones....lol....OMG. But the guys over here are just great for advice and sharing info.. It's been a fun time so far. |

I thought you just did it to hang out with us... ![]() That too. Several of you have been my inspiration and quite helpful with parts. For anyone considering a retro build, there is a mammoth amount of info and expertise here. I certainly try to help where I can. BTW, there is a green cotton web sling on the EE for sale. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_159/1350524_Colt_Armalite_601_retro_sling_green_cotton__.html |
