I know it is here somewhere but I am trying to find a complete list for AR makers. The best I can find is this one http://gunquester.com/Sidebarpages/brandsmain.html. but it is not complete either and it changes almost weekly. Mainly I am searching for little known brands that might offer better value for money. I can't imagine anywhere would have a better list than here, but I can't find it using google, bing, yahoo or the search button on this site. I did find this thread http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1079863_.html, which is helpful but it does not offer much or any info on the names.
The first search for google for me usually comes up with this one http://darkgun.com/ar15mans.htm, which only has a couple of brands and non of the other ones I have found have more than gunquesters. The best list I have found on this site was just for billet makers which had pics of most of them. Am I missing something obvious? Also, yes I know that many so called "manufacturers" get their stuff made out of house but if it is the same part but cheaper then I am ok with that. If anyone can help thanks in advance and if am missing the obvious, sorry in advance. |

This would be a very large list if you included anyone who is putting together rifles these days. I have seen something like that once but I have no idea where.
Are you just doing research for your own knowledge or are you looking for a secret steal that nobody knows about yet? |
| No, no steal so much as I am always looking for a cheap deal on lowers and I have gotten some good deals on lesser known brands before. Also (and maybe more importantly) I keep having buddies show up at the range with a new brand I have never heard of. Every time I think I know what it out there, someone I know gets something else and I want it. It would be nice to beat a couple of my buddies to the punch for once. First it was Noveske, then JP, then Mega, then zombie markings on the lower, etc etc. I am always behind. Right now it looks like I would have to buy a pre production Next Generation X8 to beat anyone out. That or a polymer lower but I don't think I will impress anyone with those... |
