So I am in the market for a light... and I decided I need some help deciding what road to go down... Here are the options:
1-Convert my Surefire E2D non LED with >< Thorntail mount, TNVC 220lumen conversion, and a surefire UE07 pressure switch. or 2-Just buy a Surefire Scout 300 and a Thorntail mount? I think either way they are going to be about the same cost... Just looking for some input on what would be a better route to take.. Thanks! |

Surefire is scheduled on releasing an updated E2DL Defender light that's capable of 500 lumens. However, they did axe the Lumamax upgrade so we'll just have to wait and see. Why did they do that? No idea. Probably due to the success of the Fury. There's talk over at cpf about it which I think is purely speculation. |

Buy the full size scout (M600C). It's only about an ounce heavier than the M300A, and is almost twice as bright. Plus, you'll have the option of using it stock w/ the TIR reflector which throws extremely well, or you can use a F04 diffuser for great flood if you're working up close or indoors.

I would put a VME head with a Malkoff module of your choice in the E2D and use it as a hand-held, and buy an M300B and Thorntail SBR mount for a weapon-light. |

My M300B crushes my M600C in every possible way except probably run-time. Tint is much nicer, beam has a larger hot-spot. Spill is better. Beam is much smoother in both the hotspot and spill areas. Throws farther. It's just...MOAR! and on 1 battery less. Of course, you pay for it in run-time. I bet an F04 diffuser type setup is also soon to be out, but it's great indoors as well with the spill it has, even without it. Definitely not a 1-trick pony. |

I should have mentioned that I was referring to the M300A, not the M300B. I didn't even know the B was being shipped! |
