(I tried.)  Second post here.

Who has a Core 15 M4 that likes it?  I recently bought a Used Excellent model for half a grand.  I'm not really interested in complaints (no offense).  I realize it's an entry level, non-exotic, under $800 AR, but it's my first, it shoots like a laser beam, and it functions like a Swiss watch.  Am I missing anything...?  I want to put some money into the cosmetics, like a floating quad rail with flip up front to match my flip up rear.  Any good reason not to?

Thanks!

FYI.... Flip up sights like the magpul one that's probably on your rifle are meant for back ups. They are NOT primary sights and they are not meant to be accurate as a primary sight would be.  If you take off your A2 front sight and put a flip up, you are not doing yourself any favors.  You can if you want put a drop in quad rail, but that would be cosmetic only.  If I was you, I would skip the quad rail and purchase a decent quality  Red dot sight as my primary sight. Since you will be retaining the flip up rear and the A2 front, those will be your back ups.  The A2 front sight wont be in the way of the red dot.

This http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-classic-30mm-red-dot-gen-ii/p/kt-pa30mmrdgenii/ is an aimpoint clone and its pretty rugged. I have several. You can add a magnifier later if you want.  I would choose the high mount in the dropdown, so you can have it set up to 1/3rd lower co-witness your backup sights.

pawneefork,

For the price you paid I'd say you have a nice rifle. Regardless of the brand name what counts is a reliable rifle. What sights and hand guards you put on is up to you. It is after all your rifle.
Have fun and shoot safe.

I just bought a "used" Core 15 TAC III AR-15 from Core's retail store in Ocala FL.  $680 shipped and out the door.  It came with a case, a PMAG and MBUS front and rear flip up sights.  It was hauled around to gun shows by Core Rifles and had not been shot other than a couple of rounds for testing after manufacturing.  I got it for almost half price.  A very nice gun.  And nice people to do business with.  Greatest warranty ever too.

I will not go into all the quality stuff it has in this post.  But, it has the sweetest trigger pull of any of the few AR's I have shot.  And it's better than most rifle triggers I've shot.  A military style single stage and did I say it is SWEET?  Maybe 4.5 pounds and you can't feel the break.  Just a steady pressure then Bang!  If I ever buy another AR, it will be another Core.

I also got this very adequate red dot for it for less than $50:

This sight has a 5 MOA dot.  I will look for a 2.5-3.0 MOA for my next one.  But for less than $50, this is a pretty good sight.
