Ever since MLK day, I've had terrible luck. I was top in sales at our office last week, but only had 1 sale in 4 days this week.
I found 2 Spike's FN 14.5" barrels from Brownell's and was thinking about ordering. The next day they were sold out. I can't find them anywhere now and they've been all available since October. Then the same thing happened with Rainier. They had their uppers only available stripped a couple days ago. Now they are only available assembled. It happened again when I was looking for suppressors. I decided I wanted to order a couple AAC SPR/M4 cans and then found out they have been discontinued. WTF?! Everything has gone to hell this week. If you know a source for the 14.5" Spike's FN barrels, stripped Rainier Gen1 uppers, or AAC SPR/M4 suppressors, let me know ASAP! Otherwise, does anyone know any comparable alternatives? The upper says it has "dry lube coating". That seems like a unique feature. Centurion and PSA are out of FN barrels. RifleGear claims theirs are FN, but they're $30 more each than Brownell's.

Not hammer forged, but still a good barrel |

I think that's it. Doesn't say Gen1 or 2, but probably 1. I want to say MSRP was $99.99. JoeBob used to be the cheap place to get stuff, but Rainier had them for $89.95 on Tuesday. With a $115 price tag, I might as well spend the $125 for a non-stripped.
Thanks for finding it. Are there any other reputable companies which dry lube their uppers and have all the same features? I'm mainly looking for something built to last, rather than bughole accuracy...although both would be nice. |

I would just take it as a sign that I shouldn't spend the money .That's probably a wise statement. I ordered the barrels, which were $475. Maybe I should just wait until my next paycheck to get any more toys. Funny thing is I seem to remember, whether real or imagined, that Tuesday I was thinking, "What the hell? Why don't they offer it assembled?" Now they do, but I'm thinking, "WTF? Why don't they offer both?" |
