I'm looking at getting an AR here in about a month, so I've been looking around and researching my options. This is the option that I'm looking closer at right now:
Upper: Stag-16 Model 1H Pre-Ban $504 ::: http://ar15sa.fatcow.com/store/page2.html Lower: Spikes Tactical Complete Lower w/ M4 Stock $250 ::: http://www.spikestactical.com/z/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_114&products_id=86 Total (Roughly): $754 Any opinions on it? I'm open to suggestions also. I have heard good things about both. Would I be better off going with a Stag lower? This rifle will be used for home defense, and a short range (<100yds) gun for around the farm. Edit to add: Also looking at this setup: Upper: Del-Ton AR15 Pre-Ban A2 Upper- Complete with Chrome Lined Barrel- $450 ::: http://www.del-ton.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DT1014 Lower: Same as Above $250 Total (Roughly): $700 Thanks |

This one is hard to beat. I think it's $50 less with the coupon code floating around here

I know I like the LE uppers that STAG/CMT sells now!!
They have the 1/7 twist also. As for a Lower All I care about if its a Forged REC and has a Mil specc Extn/buffer tube if useing telestock and a Quality LPK You could Save Up a extra 200 bucks and get a complete LMT M4 14.5 upper etc! LMT has a long track record of quality uppers / lowers check out the LMT website |

I personal do not like my rifles miss matched. I wold buy all Spikes or all Stag. I would also personaly buy BCM, but thatsnot what you asked. Well I did ask that in my second post @jcrowl: Yeah, I'm leaning closer towards getting a complete rifle, especially if I went with Spikes, because you can't beat the price compared to buying spikes components separate. Thanks Guys |

And as far as I know Spikes is the only manufacturer that has stepped up to the plate and posted certification documents to back up the claim that their rifles are actually built using mil-spec parts…LINK... from the barrel all the way down to the grease used on the barrel nut. For the money the only 2 rifles that I would go with are Spikes and BCM… And since Spikes has a more competitive price and are actually willing to prove that they are up to spec I think that pretty much narrows it down. |
