Cryo-Accurizing

Has anyone ever heard of this or had this done?  I wondering if this is completely true that it will shoot more accurately and longer.  Your thoughts?

Cheers,
Alex

I just left mine outside last night. -15F....

I think JP rifles do it as an option

I have heared it also adds a life to the barrel.

I have learned more about barrels than I ever thought I'd need to know here...

As barrels heat up, they 'warp' and the harmonics of the barrel can change, therefore changing POI.
Cryo-freezing a barrel relieves stress in the 'grain' of the steel, therefore reducing warp as barrel temperatures rise.

Does it work? Yeah.
But personally, I think it is one of the final accurizing steps to take once everything else is done. Cryo freezing a barrel will do nothing if the nut behind the trigger is not as tight as it can be!

PS. letting a barrel cool between shots will also prevent any shift in POI.
