| Whats the current value of sealed SA .308 battle packs?? |
|
Port is even higher. There is some currently listed at $0.65 per round plus shipping on the EE. Folks, please stop paying stupid prices for mil surplus ammo when new production can be had much cheaper. Midway has all the $0.50 per round new production 7.62x51 you need. |
|
It will be higher in a few months. The Mil Surp is oftentimes Sealed in Battle Packs which is perfect for SHTF. I have yet to regret the purchase of good mil surp. It is getting harder to come by and Dealers are even offering $50 per SA Battle Pack. So what are their projections? If you want proof email me and I will forward offers from dealers. There is none more happy than a mil surp ammo whore. |
Oh well. I guess I can sell my current stash an retire in a couple of years. |

by CAR_15 .... Oh well. I guess I can sell my current stash and retire in a couple of years. And the down side is? I would say You were very wise to have accumulated that investment. We have not seen a peak yet have we? There are too many indications that the prices are going to rise. Those who believe otherwise are certainly entiteled to their opinion. Time will tell. I would love to see prices come down. It just doesnt seem like it is going to. I wish gas would come down to. |
+ a coupon for $20 off on a order $250. or more. |
Currently this is a good deal. Watch what happens when they run out, or price increases. People will start reselling at a handsome profit. ( Nothing wrong with that, it's the American Way ) What is strangely amazing is how the demand for the product increases when the supply ends. The SA BP's are an excellent lesson in the economics of desireable ammunition. SA battle packs were flat for years, when the supply was uncertain the price jumped. When the supply ended they were selling for almost double immediately. Many people who could have purchased at the lower price purchased the Bp's for almost double. ALOT OF PEOPLE. The same will happen with this Winchester. The same is happening to reloading components. If you havent HOARDED them you will soon be paying as much for projectiles as many have paild for loaded Mil Surp. Unless you plan on using that rifle for a club stack it deep fast. |

MEh, 120 BPs of it'll last me a while, $21.95 was a nice price while it lasted. $50.00 is a fair price right now for both seller and buyer. $60.00 good if you are a seller, not so good for a buyer but livable $70.00 real good if you're a seller, not worth it in the least if you're a buyer. |
| I don't understand why people are even interested at these prices when the Paki can be had for .30 per round. I found, and the general consensus on the boards is the Paki is as good as the SA if not better. I have shot 800 rounds of Paki, 200 rounds each from four cans, and it functioned perfectly. It's very good surplus ammo. |
And who has it for sale now? |

Everybody knows 25 year old surplus ammo is worth so much more than current Federal or Winchester 7.62 because it is packed in a $.05 piece of pvc plastic. I wonder when people will catch on to the fact that ammo cans are reusable? This is just retarded! People are paying more for less. For the price differential, I can buy nice reusable ammo cans and then some. Plus I don't have to worry about the storage conditions of the ammo when it is new. |
The words "battle pack" seems to raise the cost per round by .20 cents. |
yep, it's the tacticool factor Someone should start packing the current production stuff in "battle packs" and charging 20 cents more. I could start doing this now. Any of you guys wanna buy some ammo off of me that has been packed in ziplock freezer bags? |
