Does anyone have experience with custom ar-15 lower receivers? Is it possible to have a logo engraved on the left side instead of a company trademark. Also, is it possible to have a custom fire selector markings?
I was thinking of having the U.S. Navy Emblem engraved instead of a company trademark and silent (safe) go loud (fire) |

Saw this today. I can't speak as to the quality. A friend told me they could do artwork. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=11720170&cat=380&lpid=1&search= http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=11960980&cat=380&lpid=&search= |

The manufacturer would have to apply for a marking variance with the ATF and therefore incur a fee. Then the machines would have to be set up to engrave the new logo, another fee. So, all in all, you could have over $500 into one lower if you could even find someone who was willing to do this for you. I'd recommend you stick with a regular lower and then have the Navy emblem laser engraved on the right side. |

Here's a lower with no logo. You could get it, then have Ident add the logo. No idea about the fire selector markings though. Maybe TIG over and grind down the old markings, then have Ident engrave yours. Don't know if it would mess with the temper of the material though, and you'd have to get it refinished...
Good luck whatever you choose, and show it off when you get it done |

Thank you so much The Mountaineer! That website is exactly what I needed. I am thinking of ordering one "in-the-white," sending it to Orion, and then duracoating it in marpat. I don't know how long all that will take, but I will post the results whenever it is finished. |

The anodizing process is important for the surface hardness of the aluminum. Check out US Anodizing on the web, they do great work. |
| I went with Ident's for my fiance's AR15 I had a rather unique peice of art engraved onit, email and ask them before you do it though as the receiver I sent them wasn't working well because the finish was painted on or something to that effect. But they did cut me a prett decent deal on a stripped LRB lower. Great guys to work with. |
