ARFcom: Are there any barrel manufacturers out there that can build a barrel to these specifications? Caliber: 6.8 SPC Length: 12" Carbine-length gas port Chamber: Long chamber, corrected reamer. Twist rate: 1:11 Lands: 4 shallow lands/grooves Muzzle fixture: permanent attach muzzle brake designed to accept a fast-attach suppressor I live in less-free state so I'm not permitted to have flash hiders or barrel threading. This barrel will be mounted on my dream SBR, and I'd really like to have the option to fix a suppressor to it at some point in the future. Thanks! |
you want a 12in barrel with 1:11 twist 4 groove? Id suggest you contact Tim at Ko-Tonics and see if he has any SBR configs in the works. YOUR other option, would be this, buy the barrel from Ko-Tonics, then send it to either Randall of AR15barrels.com to cut it down and profile it as you wish OR send it to Marty Ter Weemee of Teppo Jutsu LLC fame (www.teppojutsu.com) and have him work it over. Either one does good work, I have rifles by both guys (well Randall needs to ship my other one..) but they both have a long list of happy customers. Call Tim see what he can set you up with. |

I'll give Tim a call. Thanks! The other question I had was whether anybody manufactured a muzzle brake that will accept a fast-attach suppressor. If I can't get a commercial part, I'll have it custom machined--but I'd prefer to have a few references for a machine shop with relevant firearms experience. |
No can do! My legislators have forbidden me from owning a flash hider. It has to be a muzzle brake I'll give them a call though to see if they can't machine me up something. |
Call either Marty of Teoopjutsu.com or Randall of AR15barrels.com if there isnt a break for a fast attach can, I would think between the two of them, they could make one... |
If you're not permitted flash supressors I doubt you'd be allowed sound supressors as they are excellent flash supressors. Under the Federal ban you could not use a sound supressor with a post ban rifle. |
