A Blackthorne kit. Wow. What could go wrong?

Normally I'd start with other questions, but first: does it have a gas tube?

but but but, blackthorne kits are good value, people that warned against them are gun snobs... they don't have any issues... a bunch of shills told me so...

OP, you've been had, blackthorne is garbage...

as 87GN said, check for a gas tube... or better yet check to see if a gas port was drilled into your barrel

Makes me wanna go out an get one

Being just back from God's (Alla) country, what possessed you to buy a Blackthorne kit?

Which kit did you waste your money on?

Ok.

any ideas on what could cause this
No gas.  Undrilled gas port, misaligned gas block, no hole in gas block, no gas tube, obstructed gas tube, gas tube installed upside down, no gas key, no hole drilled in bolt carrier.  I think that's pretty much the entire gas path.

or what i should do?

Return for a refund?  Or start looking at everything in the gas path to try to figure out where the problem is an fix it.

Oh, by the way, the last Blackthorne kit gun I worked on had a .2" gas port. Maybe that rifle beat up scshooter's rifle and took its gas port.

Maybe a bit off topic but tell us a little what you mean by this.

Oh, and thanks for serving.

As to the actual issue, I have nothing meaningful to say that has not already been said. Blackthorne is the cold wet spot at the inside of the dried up dog turd that is shitty AR companies.

SHIT! The bore is only .223, so .20 is almost as big as the bore diamiter.
