New here and I have a home built 300 Blackout SBR that will eject rounds and lock back on last round empty mag but every 2-5 rounds it will shove the next round in the mag halfway into the barrel and jam. It does this with subsonic rounds both suppressed and unsuppressed. Supers seem to cycle fine both suppressed and unsuppressed. Confirmed no gas leakage anywhere, judging by how dirty the BCG is it’s getting plenty of gas back. I’m thinking it may be a buffer or a spring issue. If I missed anything that can help with diagnosing please let me know!

300 Blackout
8.5 inch barrel
Diligent Defense Enticer S Suppressor
Pistol length gas system
3.1 ounce buffer
Standard spring
Aero Lower stripped
BCG out of my 5.56 AR

I would check the feed ramps to see if the cuts in the barrel extension are overhanging the cuts in the upper reciever. Use a toothpick or similar pointed object to feel for any edge that might catch the tip of the round as it pushes up the ramps.

ETA: School of the American Rifle (SOTAR) has a vid on YouTube that shows how to check and fix this issue. Its pretty common, I have done several builds and had to address this issue on at least half of them.

Just checked the feed ramps and there’s no overhang and the barrel extension matches the upper.

This happens with 300blk dedicated mags not 5.56 mags, I did purchase a different mag to try and troubleshoot but haven’t been back to the range yet. My feed ramps look like the top right picture M4 to M4 and it’s not cocked in anyway that I can tell. Subsonics that I’m using that has happened with both are Winchester Super Suppressed 200 grains and Hornady Black 208 grains. I never use the mag as a handhold or a rest I always have my hand on the handguard and pressed against my handstop

Update for everyone. Tried every combination of buffer, spring, and mags available. Swapped a different BCG out of another 300blk rifle and it cycles just fine
