When I got my new upper with DD Lite installed from a vendor, the top rail was not level with the reciever, by almost 2/64, as you can see:

I loosened the bolts, then put a scope mount to bridge the handguard and upper, and tightened again. There is still a vertical misalignment, about half of what it was before. When I lay the edge of the ruler along the top of the upper, the ruler hits the handguard at the forward end, instead of being flat across its length. So, the handguard appears to be tilted. Anyway way to correct this, or is this just a result of stacking tolerances, and I should just live with it?

Just some my thoughts...no expert here.
Did you use a pattern when tightenig bolts?
or
Maybe the recever threads aren't cut true to the upper's flat-top?

Try tightening the bottom set of bolts first. That should raise the rear of the handguard up, and hopefully get it into alignment. If that doesn't work, I would contact DD and show them the pics you have.
