Which DD M4? There are a bunch of different versions with different rails.
If you are thinking of the DD M4V7, it uses the DD Modular Float Rail (MFR) 12.0. I have that rail. It is fantastic. Slim, smooth, light, no rails on sides or bottom unless you need them. Comes with three 3" mini-rails to put only where you plan to mount an accessory. Elegant and strong. Very tight lockup to your upper. Looks like this on my build:

| Get the DDM4 rail...and get the new 15 inch rail coming out soon...will allow for lots of real estate for your shit and it will look better on a 16 inch barrel. Why would you want a taller profile like the Omega? F that...the DDM4 rail is very lean for a quad rail...no need for bulky quad rails IMO and they are light weight. They feel awesome in the hand. |
| DDM4 is the way I'd go. The Omega X and Lite rails have very tall I-beam like profiles that I don't care for and don't work as well with a thumb-over support hand grip. Are they selling the M4 rails by themselves now? I thought that was a complete gun only thing. |

I thought that was a complete gun only thing. that was the case in the past, however, I know DD plans to sell their new 15 inch DDM4 rail separately and with the new V9 rifle coming out. not sure if they will sell the 12 inch DDM4 separately...may need to hit up ebay to find that. |
| The DDM4 rail and the Lite Rail III are the same thing. The DDM4 rails only come on complete rifles, they cannot be bought separately. Daniel Defense announced at shot show that this spring they will start to sell the DDM4 rail by its self under the name of Lite rail III. Most people prefer the DDM4 rail/Lite Rail III over the traditional Lite rails because it has a slimmer profile and is much more comfortable to grip with the thumb over technique. As of right now you can only get this rail if you buy a whole rifle or if you buy it from someone who's taken it off their rifle. It will be sold in the 9", 12" and 15" version this spring and I definitely recommend holding out for it. |

| Thanks for the info!!Im buying a complete rifle and those were the options that came on them from what I have seen and didn't know which one to get.BB thanks for posting the pics it is the newer lite rail system that comes on the one then.Looks the same as the ris II but only four screws.Btw it is a DDM4 V5 that I am buying. |

OP the RAS is nice, I own one and do like the finish and the feel. There are lighter models out there, though! I'm 99% sure my lgs has one on the shelf. Been there for around 2 years. |
