Hey guys,

Approaching the final stretch in my latest build and I have a question. DD sells the lite rail in 9" or 10" but only the 10" . Which one covers the gas block properly on a carbine with a DD low pro gas block? I saw a rifle at the gunshow yesterday in a similar configuration but I forgot to note the length of the DD rail it had on. Any advice or pics of similar build would be helpful and of course appreciated.

Thanks,

Luis

With a carbine length gas port, 9" rails will cover the gas block.

Hey thanks! So if I get the 9" it will likely be flush at the end with the front of the gas block. If I go 10" the rail will pass over it 1" correct? It thats true than I will have to decide which look I like better. Anyone have any pics?

Thanks,

Luis

I'd go with the 10'. That way you get more distance between your sights if that is what you are going with.

These are pics of a DD 9" with LaRue low profile gas block. I belive the DD gas block is about the same length.

I thought about this actually. I think this pretty much pushes me towards the 10" rail (not 10' ). I appreciate all the help guys, now Im off to place my order!

Take Care,
