bought the Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 in 3-12 x 40 for my 18 inch FN DMR. Anybody using this optic? How is it working out? It is basically a Leupold VX-1 scope with tactical turrets and reticle. The VX-1 has a solid reputation as do the Mark AR scopes. One inch main tube and lead free glass make these scopes incredibly light weight, yet durable. Decent glass and very good tracking turrets. |

I don't think there is a 3-12... there's a 3-9 and a 4-12.
I have the 3-9x40 with the firedot SPR reticle. I use it in a SPR/hunting role. I think for the money it's good glass, though I wish I'd paid just a little more and got the VX-R Patrol 3-9x40, which is quite a step up in better glass. |

I have a couple of the original Mark AR's (MOA instead of the newer being MilRad). One on a precision bolt gun (Savage 10FP), and one on a 16" AR set up for Varmints.
As mentioned, its a VX-1 with adjustable elevation turrets. The windage, at least on the older models is a capped turret, but doesn't have the return to zero capability like the elevation. Not a huge deal but could be if you want to shoot a lot of longer range targets and know you'll need to dial in for wind. I think it is a great value and does enough things well to be worth it. I have a couple of nicer VX-3's on some other rifles that of course are a bit better, but not enough better to where I feel like I'm handicapped by the Mark AR. |

Well here is the DMR and scope. Target at 50 yards. Wanted to hit .6 inches below POA. Will verify at 100 and 200 yards.
ETA I was shooting my handload 77 grain SMKs. Attached File Attached File |
