so my dm premium 4x magnifier with the samson flir to side mount came in the mail about 2 weeks ago. the box it came in was pretty nice for a cardboar box it had a nice colored picture of the magnifier behind and eotech. opening the box everything was secure in foam with nice cut outs for all the stuff. which included the magnifier, fts mount, allen key, and a little cloth to clean the lens.
taking it out of the box it felt nice and not of cheap airsoft quality which it better for the price i paid lol(310$). the mount and everything felt good and to be made with quality in mind. i didnt have my gun at my house at that time so i just got to look through it and the glass was nice and clear with no complaints on my end. so finally getting a chance to put it on the gun behind my eotech 516 its kinda hard to get it lined up perfect with my reticle in the middle of the magnifer. now in all honesty and fairness i really havent spent much time and effort trying and havent used locktite on the screws like it says to do with the instructions. i dont think i will have a problem with the adjustments getting it where i want its just getting it how i want and the getting locktite on the threads and then getting it back to that spot again. when i actually got to shoot it slightly out of alignment i was pretty impressed with the quality of the glass and the magnifaction of it. being a 4x magnifaction its perfect for what i want and its worked great so far. my two complaints are one for the mount to be easier to adjust and two i wouldnt mind another .5-.75 inches of eye relief but i think when i get my new stock on it will help alot of with edge of my 6 position not digging into my face. the whole unit is pretty light and not to big and bulky and it fits nicely right over the top of my midwest industries flip up rear sight. http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad261/cohenj87/magnifier3.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad261/cohenj87/magnifier2.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad261/cohenj87/magnifier.jpg as long as the DM last me i will never be dropping the kind of money that eotech and aimpoint asks for their magnifier. these appear to be of good quality at a price of 310 with flip mount for a 4x which if it was an eotech would run you about 850. i did find some people who said they had problems with the mount but said that DM took care of them no questions asked. if your looking for a good quality lost cost non airsoft magnifier then the DM is the one for you. i have about 200 shots fired with it on and will edit when its had 1000. |
