Ok I still have a headspace that is too short with a DPMS 24" Stainless Steel 223 Rem barrel mounted in an RRA upper with a DPMS BCG. All parts are brand new. The barrel extension was installed on the barrel by DPMS. I can not close the bolt on my new Forster GO Gauge. I tried another bolt assy (this BCG has seen about 450 WWB rounds) and can close on the GO Gauge but it takes more than just a light touch to do so. I strip the bolts down and install in the upper before performing the check. I don't won't to shoot the gun until it is resolved. DPMS suggests that I ream the chamber out more to match the bolt. This is not something I'm going to do myself. Not sure of what a gunsmith will cost but I think it is ridiculous to need to do this since the brand new parts should be in spec. Should I just try different bolts until it fits? DPMS claims the barrel is not a defect, even though they have not looked at it. |
