I purchased a DPMS Hi-Rider Receiver upper and was wondering if there are any iron sights I can use on this.  I know it is designed for optics, but I thought an iron sight might be nice for backup.  Everything I have seen is too high.  Any thoughts?

By too high do you mean to get a good cheek weld?  I have a maetech(sp?) and it suits me fine.  DPMS makes their own buis but I've never fondled one of those.

The hi-rider receiver is a flat top that is raised about an inch for optimal optics mounting.  If I put a standard detachable rear sight on it the rear sight is an inch higher than the front sight post and there is no way to compensate for that much difference.  I almost need a flip up rear sight that only flips up as much as a standard sight flips the aperture.  I honestly don't know.  Any help would be appreciated.

Millet offered a sight-above-scope option with their rings. These would technically qualify as BUIS.

I have the lr308t it came with an elevated gas block as well.  My standard sized buis work just fine.  DPMS sells a bigger gas block that matches the upper.

AFAIK, there is not a rear BUIS for that upper receiver. Optics only, I'm afraid.
