Anybody have any experience with these ??  I don't know whether to get the std profile or the high rider.  The std requires hi rings or a riser but allows use of the tall holographic sights.  Do you guys think the thicker receiver is better for accuracy or is it just a gimmick?   Are they forged or cast ?

The yotes are taking over in GA and using my AR instead of my 223 Savage might give me the opportunity to kill more.

Thanks

I have built one rifle with this upper.  I think it works just fine.  It is certainly adequate in terms of strength unless you are using your AR as a club.  It is not a forging but rather a machined extrusion.  Extrusions typically are not as strong as a forging, but certainly better than a  casting.  The extra thickness is probably so the total strength of the upper comes back to the equivalent of a forged unit.  I like not having to use the very tall scope rings or other gagets to get the scoipe up to a usable height.

Here's my varmint rifle with the DPMS Hi-Rise upper.
