Hey guys, I was looking for some info on the length of the receiver rail.  I have one of these rifles coming to me in a few days and have a SS10X to put on top of it.  I have Medium leupy MK4 rings for it but I need to know if I can make it fit or need to get new rings.  Thanks in advance for any info that you can provide.

Length will be fine. 308s have a long receiver. Its the height you "may" need to worry about. What upper did you get, slick side or A3? The slick side has a raised rail, where as the A3 is the same as your traditional AR15. I do not have access to me safe since I am overseas for about 40 more days, but I have attached a photo of my 308B A3 upper with a Leupold 4.5-14x50 ill TMR Mark 4 scope, it has a Larue 104 mount (1.58" high to centerline). You can see where the optic leaves enough room for the rings to sit on the upper, and you can see the kind of close tolerance against the fore-end. I swapped to stock out on mine to a ACE skeleton for weight, support, comfort, and just liking it better.

Where did you score the "B" and what did you pay if you dont mind me asking.

I scored the B in a trade deal.  It will be coming with a leupy 3.5 - 10 x 50.  Its the slabside upper and I want to mount the scope as close to the receiver as possible.

I've got a "B" that came with a slick-side upper (all of them do).  At the moment, there are a number of A3 uppers on gunbroker that go for about $239.  I ended up buying one for my LR-308B.

I mounted my Leupold Mark 4 on both the High Profile upper and the A3 upper using an A2 Stock.  While the high-profile sits about 1/5 inch higher, I didn't find any problems with EITHER receiver hight using a CAA mount.  I could have lived with the cheek weld on either height receiver.

Unless when you order it you ask for a A3 upper, just one of the options they have available.

Yeah, true.... I mean in "stock" configuration.  At this time, I'd be very reluctant to order anything from DPMS in any non-"standard" configuration.  Your newborn could be in Jr. High School before it shipped.
