This was my second trip out to the range.  The first trip I broke in the barrel using Remington 150gr core lokts and today I finished off the remaining 40 rounds of Remington factory ammo.  I was using the Remington stuff to break in the gun and I wanted to keep the brass.

Using Remington 150gr core lokt ammo the results were probably good enough for a guy that wants to hunt with it, but definitely not good enough to be bragging about your group size at the range.

Using some 150gr hornady SST's that I had loaded over some varget the results were a little better than the Remington factory ammo, but not by a whole lot.

Using some handloaded 168gr Matchkings over some varget I got outstanding results.  I didn't take pictures of the groups I shot because they are pretty much like every other picture you've seen online.  Keep in mind that my rifle is a completely stock 308B.

The range was extremely windy today and that's why I didn't compare my match handloads to the black hills or federal match ammo.  I'd like to have decent conditions when I make that comparison.

Overall I am very impressed with this rifle.  Accuracy, reliability, and quality are all top notch.  The recoil is practically nothing even after the 160 rounds I fired today.  I wasn't too impressed with the trigger at first, but it has smoothed out a lot since the first trip out.

I assume 168 Sierra (SMK). So, how much Varget r u using?
FWIW: I had pretty good luck with 168 AMAXs with 44.5gn Varget, WLR, Winch brass

Improving the trigger should be top of your to do list.  Either send it off, or buy a good trigger.  You will not regret it.

I was using 42.0 gr of varget.  The trigger was a big item on my to-do list, but it seems to have smoothed out some so it's not as urgent as what I once thought it was.

I tried 168 gr Sierra Match King BTHP, remington 308 brass, CCI primers, and Hodgdon Varget
in 43.0, 43.5, 44.0, and 44.5 grain loads

I found that 43.5 gr of Varget worked exceptionally well. Best out of those 4 loads.

This was in my LR-308C (7.62 NATO chamber)

yeah, that 2" of barrel changes the sweetspot. AFAIK, 308Bs are heavy 18" barrel vs the 20" of the c model
