I recently purchased a brand new DPMS LR-308 Tac-20.  It was on order for almost a year.  It shoots great, but have only had enough time to do the barrel break-in.  I did notice that the upper and lower have a slight bit of play in them towards the butt stock.  My AR is tight and firm.  If I hold the lower and pull up on the upper near the charging handle I get maybe 1mm of play.  It's just not snug.  I imagine the pin is not holding the upper down fully.

Is this normal?  Should I be concerned, and if so how can I fix this?

Thanks everyone!

Normal for all AR-pattern rifles.  Does not affect anything unless really excessive.  Use an O ring or red Accu Wedge if it bothers you.  I have two LR308s that both have a little play.  I use an AccuWedge in both.

These rifles seem to take about 300 rounds to get settled in...

Thanks for the info!  After 300 rounds will this issue necessarily improve?  I wouldn't think so, but I'm not an expert.  I'll check out one of those wedges as I would prefer it to be sold.

Thanks again.

Accuracy will improve.  Receiver fit will not change.
