Just purchased a DPMS LR-308.  I love it.  Less felt recoil (for me) than M1A, feels better, and shooting 2 inch groups at 100yds with irons.  Also, props to DPMS for selling the carbine with 2 mags, cleaning kit (doesn't fit attachments though), and sling.  Here's a pic:

Yes, I know it's a 16" and I'll lose some velocity (no flame please), it's what I wanted.  I have a bolt gun for farther out.  I have some questions for you guys:

1.  Could someone point me in the direction of the best deal they've found on magazines for the DPMS LR-308?  I need more.

2.  I was thinking about a couple of 10 rd mags too.  Are they running okay for everyone?

3.  I can get 20 rds of 150grn soft tip Federal at Wal-Mart for plinking for $12.50.  Will shooting my 6.8 ever be that inexpensive?

4.  I kind of miss the carry handle / real site profile.  Will a standard AR15 rear handle / site fit?

Thanks in advance.

1. I got mags on sale a few months back from midwayusa.com (currently out of stock on 19 rounders)
2. 10 rounders are all I use (California) and they run fine.
3. Learn to reload. You'll have higher quality ammo and more of it for the same price as store-bought stuff.
4. The elevation markings for .223 will not track with 308 ballistics. I'd save up for an AR-10 carry handle from Armalite. You can occasionally find them on the Equipment Exchange.
