Probably kicking a dead horse but the search didnt come up with any results...

I use my 16'' AR for plinking and its loud. Cant get a can in MI so my choices are a KX3 or a DPMS Levang. I hear the KX3 is for SBRs only so i thought i was just stuck with the noise until i heard about the Levang. I know it only directs the sound away, i don't care where the sound goes as long as its not towards my ears.

Anyone have any experience with the levang?

If it helps at least a bit for $32 i'd say worth it. (going off midwayusa, dunno if they're cheaper elsewhere)

Being a compensator its still legal in Michigan though, right?

Thanks

I've got one on a 7.5 SBR/Pistol.  (The upper spends time on different lowers.)  It seems to work OK.  Haven't tried firing it w/o hearing protection,  but it seems to do what it's supposed to.  Of course inside it's going to get reflected right back at you, and that may happen outdoors if the terrain is right.

Do you have a brake as your current muzzle device?

For your needs I'd recommend, in order of cost:

Remove A2 (then you have exposed threads/muzzle),

Chopping the A2 so no noise making holes (or comp/FH benefit either),

Levang,

MSTN/PRI QC.

Good luck!

Just checking:  you are using hearing (and eye) protection right?

Other options:
4.5" Bushmaster CAR Flash hider
5.5" Bushmaster CAR Flash hider

Both are ~ $16 and their slots could be cut-off if the rifle still isn't quiet enough for you.
