So... I want to get a lower, and the cheapest ones around here are DPMS lowers for 135. I dont know if this is that great of a deal, but it is not that much money to me in the big scheme of things and I wouldnt mind paying that price IF it is acceptable quality.  MY questions is, are these decent as far as stripped lowers go.  I would like to build a rifle using quality components starting with this lower. Tell me your thoughts. Thanks guys  Also, keep in mind I dont have an FFL, so ordering online is out of the question.

for a complete dpms lower with 6 pos stock before ffl charge its 192$ here http://colemantyler.com/proddetail.php?prod=LRWPDPMS and for a stripped lower before ffl its 103$ or for a stripped stag arms one its 97$ but since you cant order online Its not a bad price considering ffl charges usually are 30$

$139.95 for a complete one here with 6 pos stock...I think the quality is fine by me too, with a del-ton upper I  think it was under $700.00 for the whole rifle.

I paid $135.99 + tax for a DPMS lower two weeks ago at a gun show. Add in $60 for the LPK and another $60 for the standard 6 position stock and you have a complete lower.

Yes, I enjoyed the fact I had no idea what I was doing. Now I have no problem with the idea of tearing it apart if I need/want to.

No, I still haven't found the upper I want yet.

Locally I buy DPMS lowers for $115 + tax.  Information on this board shows that the DPMS lowers are made by LAR who makes lowers for several other well known manufacturers such as CMMG.  The only lower I would stay away from is RRA and this only because I keep reading about their tight tolerances.  To many people, however, that is a plus.  Good luck and enjoy building your rifle.

I have heard the same thing about RRA.  Glad to hear the DPMS is G2G.  I will pick one up tomorrow

Picking up my DPMS lower tomorrow. A buddy got one a few weeks back and I inspected it to no end. Nice finish and no roughness..

Pick your favorite rollmark.

LAR Manufacturing, Inc. is the actual manufacturer of Bushmaster, Ameetec, DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton Armory, and Spike's Tactical lowers. All of these are good to go in spite of what the mall ninja wanna-be commandos say!

I have a couple and they are in spec and perfect in every way.

I've built a number of AR's on DPMS lowers.  They are excellent, all dimensions correct, and the finish matches most uppers in production today.  And the price is good.

I used to pay $115 and then $120 and now $135 locally for dpms lowers )changed to $135 about a month ago).  The 4 lowers I've put together are all dpms.   Finish is very nice, no issues with them being out of spec anywhere and have had 0 issues.  I think $135 is a very good price.  You will find better deals on the net but by the time you figure shipping and FFL you're still going to be cheaper and avoid the hassle.

The panther is a lot cooler looking than a lot of the lower insignias out there, too :)

See if your local FFL will talk to Del-Ton,They are doing lowers in their own name now and from what I hear are good quality and good price.DTI is the name on the receiver. If you have to order them through a FFL then shipping and the 25 to 30 dollar charge gets you right up there with the other ones.I delt with a FFL guy that charged 10%of the price up to 25.00 but never any more than 25.00 dollars. As your question goes, the ones that I have helped put together or done myself have all been very good quality and we didn't have any problems with fit, finish or working when we got finished.Make sure you get a mil-spec lower kit also because the small parts are just as important as the big parts.
