Dear Fellows!

Maybe I am just too dumb, but I cannot remove the plastic follower from 10 rd Steel .308 DPMS mags.

The follower seems to be held in the mag body at the bottom by one intendation at the back ( that I could carefully bend back for release?? ), but also by the ( 4 ) flooplate retention tabs.

Is there an easy way to remove the follower from the mag body??

Why are you trying to remove it anyway? Is it broken?

We do not recommend disassembly of the new version on the 10 round mag as possible damage may result during disassembly.

How to remove floor plate...

Pry between floor plate and mag body with a sharp screwdriver lifting plate in rear over half shears being careful to not damage mag body or floor plate.

Slide floor plate to rear

Remove spring

Remove follower thru bottom prying with screwdriver or similar tool.

*This procedure is not covered under warranty*.

Please contact DPMS if you have a magazine problem and we will replace free of charge.

Just got an elder pre - loved DPMS mag, and compared with a newly made  ( I presume ) DPMS ...

Seems the elder one had a different follower!

While I liked the longer lenght of the "cartridge" on the follower, I noticed:

A) that the follower will slip up above the mag body at the front occasonally - BAD!

B) that the hole in the floor plate for disassembly is at the wrong side - AWAY from the "locking dents" at the rear!?!? ( so one really has to do the screwdriver method, scratching the mag body!! )

Interesting, I have to say!
