I'm looking to get a new Multi-tool to re-install my Larue FF. (The cheap one from overstock sucks)

What is the experience with these? This time around I'm really gonna torque the barrel nut down so I'm worried that I might break the tool.

There's no way in hell you'll break the DPMS tool, if that's a concern.  I ordered one, and was like when it arrived.  A lot bigger than I thought it would be, and solid as hell.  Heavy too.

Do what I did, and order from CheaperThanDirt, and use the $10 off coupon code.  I think it came out to $26 shipped.

Here's the link:  DPMS Multi-Tool

The code is one of these three, I can't remember which one.  But enter them 1 at a time, and it will let you know when it's right, and show the $10 taken off the total.

ETA:  These codes must be expired.  Sorry fellas.

Forgetfull,

The DPMS Multi-tool is what I use to install my LaRue rails. They can break, but it does take a lot to break them. USMC03 and I each broke ours on one of his rifles, but that particular rifle had to be sent back to get taken of. If you use a breaker bar in conjunction with the Multi-tool, it'll make getting the barrel nut on tighter much easier.

And if you do break the Multi-tool, DPMS with replace it.

Wow good price! it looks like that's the deal I'm taking advantage of.
Another question, anyone know where to get a DPMS Panther action block for cheap? I assume theses blocks are just as good as the clam type?

Might as well tack it onto the tool order.

Midway has the Panther Claw on sale for $30 right now. It is a great deal and I believe it lasts until the end of the month, but better check and don't drag your feet....<><....:)

I recently recieved the DPMS multi tool, and was impressed with its weight and quality.  I see this thing being around for a good long time.

As for the reciever block, I'm not sold on the version that uses the pins to take all the torque.  I purchased the clamshell type reciever block as I believe it distributes the torque stress more evenly across the entire reciever instead of focusing it on the tow pin mounts.  A simple fixture can take a hell of a lot of torque as long as it is spread across a great area, localize it and you can have problems.

Just my $.02.

I had the same problem too. As far as I know no one knows the new promo #. I spent a lot of time looking for it this afternoon.

Thanks Forgetfull, perhaps someone out there knows the new promo code number and will respond. Maybe the poster who spoke of the DPMS wrench, NY_Shooter, will see this and supply the number for those that now want to buy the wrench he spoke of....<><....:)

Yeah, they must have expired.  I edited my post above.

Sucks, because I was going to order some KNS pins soon.  Hopefully, the new code comes out soon.

As of tonight, 1531-2908 is still valid (the others have expired) but requires minimum order of $100.
