I'd like you fellas opinion on the quality of DPMS uppers? Are they comparable to Bushmaster, etc?

Also...

Does using the foreign military steel-cased (rather than brass casings) rounds in a DPMS upper in 7.62x39 cause any harm to the extractor? I'd assume the SKS rifle and the like are made to handle these cases, but is the AR15 in that caliber designed to take steel cases???

I used to work in a gun shop that carried DPMS rifles; we usually sold around 30 of their AR-15's per month.  They seemed kind of hit-and-miss on quality.  Generally they were ok, but I saw a few dogs make it out of the factory.  I'd rate them below Bushmaster but above Olympic.

I've had a couple of them over the years and never had any issues. Maybe I'm just lucky since I also own a pre-ban Olympic lower that take every mag I've ever owned [:D]

I have two DPMS uppers.  An M4 style (M4 1/7 twist 14.5" chrome lined A3) and a varmit (24" 1.15" dia 1/9 twist fluted A3) and they both work great!  I picked them up from CMMG.  The M4 upper works fine on FA as well.  No problems at all.
