I have a DPMS stainless steel receiver I have laying around. How do these compare with standard aluminum receivers. I was thinking of building a varmint barreled rifle for target shooting off a bench, either 20/24" white oak upper. I also have a LRB lower receiver I can use. Any advantage other then weight? I'll sell the one i don't use, any idea what a DPMS stainless receiver is worth?

The receiver has a DPMS LPK installed with a Geissele NM trigger.

Thanks, Ken

a common problem I've seen with these was the threads for the receiver extension (buffer tube) were usually out of whack just enough to where the bolt carrier would bind inside and effectively render the rifle a single shot which would require disassembly.
On the other hand, you may be lucky to have one that works as designed.

Not sure if I will keep it or sell it. Was there a fix for the problem?

Well if it helps there is a DPMS SS lower on Gunbroker right now with bids going for $850. Might be worth selling that one. lol

I did some searching and found some posts about the problem you described. The receiverIi have was bought 2 years after those problems were reported so hopefully I got a better receiver. The guy I got it from bought it to build a match gun and never got beyond assembling the receiver. This one is a teflon coated receiver. I am looking for a bull barrel upper. I called white oak armament and they said 6 months wait. Other's like J&T will not even give a wait time.

The guys sold them on one of the auction sites and added disclaimers.  Kinda targeted them toward guys interested in the the.50BMG uppers.
