I have a DPMS Recon .308 that currently has a commercial spec stock and tube on it.  Can I just swap out the tube and stock, and still use the same buffer, buffer spring, and castle nut?  Do I need to do anything to the lower to make the extension fit on?  Thanks!!!

Yes, I did it. But I also changed buffer, and spring, BCG, adjustable gas block, flash suppressor and a free float hand guard.
But the answer is a simple yes. You can just change tubes and keep your spring and buffer.

I actually run a Armalite collapsible stock, tube, spring and buffer on my DPMS 7.62 build!

Runs GREAT! Not a single issue, short of a SA 1981 bad round. Had a few FTF with my bolt gun!

I like the extra length...
