I'm working on a DPMS pattern .308 build. I'm trying to build a gun that is accurate without weighing a ton (I sold a 24" bull barrel DPMS because I hated what a tank it was). I have a lower with parts kit, and a Ranier arms midweight 20" barrel. I'm shopping for the upper receiver.

Any experience with their lightweight upper receiver? It looks the same as the regular upper. I'm wondering if the lighter weight could compromise accuracy.

Any other mfgs of DPMS patter uppers I should consider?

Thank you.

Depends if you want a brass deflector or not. The barrel is going to make the big difference in the weight between the two. Pick up a Remington R25 and see how it feels vs your old LR 308.

The Lightweight looks like it has a brass deflector. It is not a slick side (which I'd be okay with, but they aren't listed on the site)
