Is anyone playing with this yet?

Sort of off topic but I was going to build a 338 fed AR10, but ended up re-barreling a savage bolt action.

Then reamed it to a 338-284 which is about like a 338-06.
It holds about 10 gr more powder than a 338 fed.

Just sold my reamer to a guy that is rebarreling a Savage 99 lever action to 338-284.

Negatives are the 338-284 is a short neck long piece of brass.

The 338 RCM is shorter overall and fatter and probably more suited to an AR10 since you have limited mag length.
Marty can build you one of those.
It is also pretty close to a 338-06. Probably more like between a 338-06 and a 338 win mag.

With a 250 gr Gameking and a 24" barrel, 338-284 or a 338 RCM with RL17 you can get 2500-2600 FPS.

Been thinking of the 338 Federal for some time. Now that I have the DPMS 308 I'm trying to decide ...bigger or smaller first. 260 or 243 or 338. I've got a lot of 243 Win stuff on hand but that 338 Federal just intrigues me for some reason.

I was watching Modern Rifle Hunting Adventures and they used the .338 Fed to take down a Buffalo here in Eastern Colorado.

No 338 federal but I am building a 338 RCM(Ruger Compact mag) Sunday to decide if I want to start producing them.
