| Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm a FNG here. I have an old "pre-ban" DPMS A1 rifle (probably made in the late 80s or early 90s) and an older "post-ban" Bushmaster A1 carbine. Both have provided trouble free service since I got them. Here is my question: I have ordered a new LaRue DMR-16 upper and was wondering which lower to keep and use because I have a friend who is pestering me to buy one of my ARs which will partially pay for the LaRue. I keep reading derogatory things about DPMS and some Bushmaster bashing (though I have no negative experiences), and was wondering what the relative qualities of the two lower assemblies are? Is there any substantive difference in quality between the two? Does your crystal ball have any guesses if the old pre/post ban status on existing guns will ever make a difference again? TIA! |
