Now I want to say right off the bat that I'm not a complete follower of the gas piston idea but i'm just offering the info to you guys...

It will be interesting to see how these weapons make their mark on the AR-15 world...

I think this may explain why the POF handguard had all that height and space above the barrel.

Height of the irons above the bore looks rediculous.

It was bad enough with the original Stoner system.

POF has their own version of a Piston upper as well, thats why the big acvity in their fore arms. And which is the same reason I did not buy one, raising the top rail height will mean raising the front sight.

I think accuracy will be lost with the fal gas system....now that the piston will be kicking backwards and causing more vibrations than needed, but it'll make a better zombie rifle

Probably had to flute it to compensate some for the weight of the gas piston and handguards.
