I'm new to the forum but not new to ARs, I'm currently building one and it's half done. The only thing slowing me down in money and, well back order from the last panic.

DS Arms is offering their AR parts for a good price, I know they make good FAL's, but i hadn't find much review of their AR stuff, but i saw complains about their finish and CS on a site.

I figure someone on the AR15.com has one of these guns. So let me about it.

Thanks

I have one of their m4 style uppers minus bolt with their nitrided barrels. I got mine shortly after they started offering their lowers. I don't have any complaints about the upper. I bought mine because every time I shot my duty rifle I had to log the info and location.  It was just easier to build one to use when I was practicing on private property.  I known several people who have bought numerous DSA uppers for their own use or resale around the same time. I also had a buddy recently
say he bought a few too and was happy with what he received. If prices are now prepanic and I wanted a cheap upper I would not hesitate to order from them. They used to use Wilson blanks for their barrels. No idea if that's still the case or not.  PSA gets a lot of love too. I've never used their AR parts before but have ordered optics n such from them because of great prices.

I would call DSA before placing any order. They are notorious for taking orders and then being backordered for months. PSA, as the other poster mentions, only sells uppers that they have the parts to build and IMO are better quality because the majority of their parts come from FN. Not to say the DSA wouldn't be fine, but both of my rifles are built with PSA parts and I've always gotten good customer service from them. One is complete PSA but assembled by me, the other uses a PSA barrel, upper, small parts and lpk. Great value for the money. I'm kind of partial.

I have a couple of rifles with DSA M4-style uppers and their BCG's.

They hold Zero and shoot just fine for the price.

They're good for a budget build.

YMMV

I ordered a DS arms m4 fluted barrel just after the panic began ( dec 2012) , received the upper within a month but the BCG never came and I guess is still on BO.  Ordered a mid length fluted shortly after the first..never another word until I cancelled it in July.  They take automated orders but their in house system deletes them, customer service is non existant.  PSA or Del-Ton are excellent companies that I deal with for reasonable prices and quality parts.  Check Midway for uppers they may have in stock I have never been disappointed with Larry's stuff.

This. DSA sucks ass. They're notorius for taking an order for something that is supposedly "in stock", and then taking a year or so to come through. Plus, they lie to their customers about delivery times. Blatant lies. After some of the bullshit I've seen with DSA, I wouldn't spend a penny with them.

BTW, don't expect ANY customer service from them.

Since PSA blew up in demand,  I wouldn't call their customer service stellar either. I think I had over three weeks and at least 3 emails into them before I finally got a response that was totally  useless about a defective optic I purchased from PSA. The manufacture replaced it thankfully.  I can think of several popular hyped manufactures or resellers who have almost zero response in terms of customer service. While others go above and beyond. It's shame but a lot of em just lack in that arena but have items with great prices and or good products.

Check out JSE surplus.  I've had good luck with their barreled uppers and other parts.  Customer service is also good..

Then don't buy from PSA. I'm willing to pay a bit extra for the peace of mind of knowing if there's a problem, I'll be taken care of no questions asked. That's why I prefer to deal with companies like BCM, etc.

I personally  wouldn't buy from PSA  a PSA marked or made  item after my customer service experience or lack of from them. I don't need your advice on where to buy from or not either!
Loose the attitude! I simply  stated my experiences and gave options to someone who asked for info. I have buddies that bought items from PSA and like me experience it shipped fast. But again they didn't have to deal with defective parts and their lack of customer service, I experienced.  I bought from them long before they blew up  so it was a shock to go from great to crappy customer service! I used to recommend PSA  all the time.
I don't know anyone that has been burned by DSA.  I personally know someone who has  sold large quantities of their uppers and not one a one has ever came back to him. He stocks them for that reason. I know people who again own them and have more on order because they have been happy with their products.  I've shot my DSA m4orgery upper against various manufactures and have never been like wow that barrel is so much better. I feel a hell of a safer with a DSA upper then PSA if there was an issue realted to defects but that's my choice. I can drive to one and have  them deal with the issue versus possibly getting nowhere like last time.  I'm not saying PSA  is better or worse.  Like I said they get a love on here and do ship fast. The companies I normally deal with for parts if there is an issue a simple email has whatever I need replaced in the mail the next day with a ship the part back when you get a chance. (I have spent some major cash with a few compmaies building rifles or getting parts fixing issies for others so guess I have been spoiled in that regards) That's customer service. At no point did I say DSA had stellar customer  service or fast ship times. I did get an email back and told an approx ship date so I have nothing to complain about with my transaction.
There is no need for troll responses when someone asks a question!
That's why I wasn't going to even get into my issue with PSA until you started spewing your garbage! If you don't like em. It's simple say you don't like em and give a good reason and leave it at that!!

Lol. What the fuck are you talking about? I agreed with you about their CS and said I'm personally willing to pay a higher price for the piece of mind knowing I'll be taken care of should there ever be a problem. You need to take your medicine and calm the hell down.

If you're who i think you are, you're  the one with the Vortex sight that arrived broken and then got all butt hurt because PSA wouldn't take it back, even though by  ordering, you agreed to terms. In their terms it says the only products they warranty are the products with their name on them and all other products must go through the original manufacturer.
