Anyone ever heard of Dalphon? The AR I just got says DALPHON and multi-caliber on the lower. I cant seem to find anything about it when I did a search. Just wondering what kind of quality it is. I love the gun and it shoots great...Just curious. By the way this is my first AR and I'm learning quite a bit about them thru this site, dont know what I would have done without you guys! |

I built a few rifles using Dalphon lowers. If I'm not mistaken, these are a predecessor of the Mega. That is, the same machine shop in Washinton state machined the Dalphon lower that makes the Mega now. I have a couple early lowers that have a relativly tight magwell but an excellent finish and some later ones that had better tolerances but the finish showed machining marks. |

Dalphon is still in business. They make AR's in many pistol calibers and conversion kits/uppers for them as well as full auto weapons for military/law enforcement. I had a 9mm AR carbine from them. It shot great, nice fit-finish, and functioned perfectly. I only sold it since I found i'd rather shoot .223 versus 9mm. Otherwise they make a great product. www.Dalphon.com |

Dalphon has closed as stated above. I've met Jay (the owner) on several ocassions, he was/is quite the shady dealer. I understand he is in prison now(or soon to be) for selling M16's "out the back door" and for trying to get people working at Mega to steal receivers for him. He never mfg'd any of his own receviers... all were done by other mfg's... so there are probably very good receiver's, even the cast ones ~D~ SNS (AR15 mfg) |
